Faribault Community Action Team

The Faribault Community Action Team is committed to reducing youth alcohol and other drug use in the Faribault community. Made up of community members, parents, representatives from law enforcement, and youth serving agencies, the group is involved in planning and implementing the following initiatives:

community awareness presentations
parent postcard educational series
youth forums
promoting positive youth activities and social support
supporting policy change to keep youth safe and healthy

The group typically meets on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the Faribault Community Center. New members are always welcome! Please contact Becky Ford, bford@ricecountychc.com or Kathy Sandberg, ksandberg@ricecountychc.com, for more information.

Parent Postcard Series

Every 4 – 6 weeks a new postcard with information for parents is sent to all families with students in grades 6 – 12 from area schools. The hope is that parents will be encouraged to start conversations, spend time, and provide boundaries for their children that will result in healthy, safe, and successful young people. The Faribault Community Action Team envisions the whole community of Faribault providing places and opportunities for youth to be involved in safe, fun, and healthy social activities.
